on 7 March 2011Vibrant, funny story
Everyone knows that supermarket shopping with Mum is boring… But not when you’re off to the supermarket zoo! Albie has the time of his life with Mum as they choose polar bears and penguins, lions and monkeys (‘have you ever tried getting six of them to sit in a trolley full of pecking parrots?’) and a trolley-load more exciting animals in this vibrant, funny story. Caryl Hart’s insightful text will resonate with any young child and, indeed, parent and the illustrations by Ed Eaves will delight youngsters.

on 9 January 2012My favourite animal was the dinosaur at the end because it was on a spiked lead like a dog and was being walked just like a dog by Mum.
My favourite picture in the book was when Albie was in the car waiting anxiously to go to the supermarket. This scene had lots of detail in it.
I rate this book 9/10, I would like to read more picture books by Caryl and Ed.
