Product description
Charlotte is totally obsessed with Jane Eyre! She dreams of living in a Gothic mansion in the Yorkshire countryside instead of going to grotty old Harraby Comprehensive. Unfortunately her love life is pretty much non-existent, except for the gorgeous Jack Burley, who doesn’t ever notice her. Resigned to her boring life for the time being, she decides to find a romantic Mr Rochester for Mum. Charlotte’s prayers are answered in the form of a dark, handsome new French teacher. He’s just the one, isn’t he? But Charlotte may have to rein in her imagination, and her aspirations of becoming a bridesmaid. For dashing Mr Grant is not nearly as charming as his sideburns seem to promise…
“Woodward has crafted a gem of a novel.” Daily Echo
“A really funny, engaging book, one that will make you smile a lot… perfect if you’re a Jane Eyre fan, and equally perfect if you aren’t!” Nayu’s Reading Corner
“Jane Airhead unashamedly shouts ‘read me’ to fans of Cathy Cassidy, Chris Higgins and Jaqueline Wilson. A well written and fun-filled tale… littered with literary references.” School Librarian

on 4 March 2013I really enjoyed this book, and the occasional chunks of Jane Eyre added an unexpected but pleasant twist to the story. I think some of it was maybe a bit too serious but it was well balanced with humour and surprises. I love this novel – it is absolutely amaztastic!
Also I really, really, really like the cover! I think it appeals to tweens and teens, and not a lot of book covers can pull that off.
This novel is incredibly witty and funny and I think everyone will love it – I’d recommend this book for ages 9+ but, as I said before, I definitely think everyone will enjoy it!
Big thank you to the author Kay Woodward for sending this to me – it was AMAZING.

However, i am glad it came up as it looks exciting. Although i have never heard of this author, i am tempted to buy this book. I delighted to see that children who read books by Cathy Cassidy and Jacqueline WIlson (I haven’t read any books by Chris Higgins)As they are my two all-time favourite authors.

on 3 March 2011What’s not to love about Jane Eyre? Gothic and passionate, it features the ultimate hero – Mr Rochester. And that gives Charlotte a top idea: she’ll look for a new Mr Rochester for her lovely Mum. So when Charlotte finds the ideal man, she can’t believe her luck. He’s dark, brooding and mysterious. He’s PERFECT.
But this real-life romantic hero also turns out to be sarcastic and rude. Does Charlotte really want her Mum marrying him?
Perhaps it would have been better if Mr Rochester had stayed between the covers of Charlotte’s favourite novel…?
