Product description

“Charlie felt claw-like fingers sink into his shoulder. Grandma Bone leaned over him. ‘Tell me what you hear,’ she demanded. ‘Voices,’ said Charlie. ‘They seem to be coming from this photograph.’”

Charlie doesn’t want to believe that he has a special gift – one that means that he’ll be sent away to the dark and remote Bloor’s Academy for “endowed” children. But voices in photographs whisper to him in words that no-one else can hear, telling of dark secrets hidden in the past, and a mystery that only he can solve. Could the Academy hold the key? Once Charlie starts at his strict and gloomy new school, it doesn’t take long for him to realize that the sinister mood that grips the place is more than just his imagination. Surrounded by enemies, will he be able to free his new friends and classmates from the power of malevolent Dr Bloor? A spellbinding fantasy that crackles with magic from award-winning author Jenny Nimmo.
