Product description

A darkly tantalising contemporary retelling of the Hansel and Gretel fairy tale.

As a child, Gretchen’s twin sister was taken by a witch-like monster in the woods. Ever since, she and her brother, Ansel, have felt the long branches of the witch’s forest threatening to make them disappear too. When their stepmother casts them out as teenagers, they stumble upon a sleepy Southern town where they are invited to stay with Sophia Kelly at her sweet shop; a house of candied magic. In this idyllic place, the siblings start to forget their haunted past. But girls have been vanishing at Sophia’s annual chocolate festival, taken by the insatiable witch of Gretchen’s nightmares. Can Gretchen save herself and the girls of Live Oak? One thing is certain: a monster is coming, and it will never go away hungry…

    Truly amazing

Sweetly was truly amazing. I stayed up for hours reading it. It's difficult to know what will happen next because it has such a twisting story line. This book can teach you not to trust everyone, no matter how sweet and innocent they may seem. When reading this book I felt all the emotions that the characters were feeling such as: Fear, anger, hurt and sadness. I love how throughout the book you learn about the character's pasts' as slowly everything starts revealing. It was fantastic!
