Product description

“My name is Dermot Milligan and I love donuts. I have to keep count because my mum is threatening to send me to Camp Fatso if I don’t shape up. And she’s making me go to a demon nutritionist to sort out my diet. So this is my donut diary, where I write down what I’ve eaten and my FEELINGS – aaargggh yuck!”

Meet the FAT wimpy kid! Dermot Milligan is a chubby misfit with a donut addiction, a bossy mother, and a father who spends all his time hiding in the loo. His sisters, Ruby and Ella (known as Rubella) attack him relentlessly from the opposite directions of Chav and Goth. And now he’s being sent to a nutritionist, Doctor Morlock, who looks like a Dementor from the Harry Potter books! This diary is Doc Morlock’s idea. Not only does Dermot have to write down how many donuts he eats, but he also has to talk about his feelings! Aaaaargh! But things are about to get even worse. He’s being separated from his friends and sent to St Michael’s, a posh school where he’ll stick out like a sore thumb. A sore thumb with a weight problem…

I enjoyed the Donut Diary book because it has a diary format which I quite like.

My favourite part was when they were at the zoo and the chimps start bullying the school bullies, I also liked it when Mr Fricker, the P.E teacher shouted at Dermot to get him to run around the forest in a full circle, which made Dermot really Angry.

I rate this book 4/5 because it wasn`t an adventure story but it was still quite good.
