Scholastic Schools Live: You Rule! with Alesha Dixon
Superstar singer and TV presenter Alesha Dixon joins Scholastic Live at 11am on 29th September to talk about all six of her bestselling children’s books including her superhero series, Lightning Girl, and brand new standalone novel, Girls Rule.
With her trademark themes of self-belief, teamwork and reaching for your goals, Alesha is sure to inspire youngsters of all ages and backgrounds as well as highlighting the importance of diversity and seeing all children represented in children’s books.
Alesha’s debut children’s book, Lightning Girl, was the biggest-selling middle grade debut of 2018. Her books for children have since sold over 100,000 copies. Girls Rule is Alesha’s sixth children’s book – a funny and empowering story about the first female Black Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and family life at Ten Downing Street.
Alesha Dixon first found fame as part of Brit-nominated and MOBO Award-winning group Mis-teeq, which achieved two platinum albums and seven Top Ten hits, before going on to become a platinum selling solo artist in her own right. Alesha’s appearance on Strictly Come Dancing in 2007 led to her winning the series and becoming a judge for three seasons. Since then she has presented and hosted many TV shows including: CBBC dance show Alesha’s Street Dance Stars, Children In Need, Sport Relief, Your Face Sounds Familiar, and ITV’s Dance, Dance, Dance. She is a hugely popular judge on Britain’s Got Talent.
