on 6 March 2014This was one of the saddest books I’ve ever read. This story about a runt piglet that was about to get killed when the girl saved him. He grew up health until Charlotte, the spider, came and saved him several times. At the end it was so sad when Charlotte died and Wilbur took Charlotte’s babies to the barn and raise them.

on 13 March 2013I think Charrlotte’s Web is a great book. It’s all about a spider who lives in a farm. It’s a fantastic book because there are happy moments, sad moments and I care about the characters. It’s a funny, cool and exciting book to read. It is for all ages.It was shocking ,sad ,funny and really good for all ages. I loved this book. I read it over and over again. I showed it to my cousins, read it to them and told them to buy it. It so sad at the end and I watched the movie and I literally started to cry. A girl that could talk to animals it was a first for me. Charlotte’s Web is a great book starring a girl called Fern. Her father was going to kill a pig but Fern wouldn’t have it so she ended up having the pig as her own child. But then, her father sold the pig. After that, the pig had some great adventures. Read the book to find out more. Rate it 10 out of 10

on 18 February 2013When Fern convinces her father not to kill the runt pig of the litter, she names him Wilbur and raises him with a bottle. Soon Wilbur goes to live in her Uncle Homer Zuckerman’s barn down the road, where she visits him every day. But when she’s not there, Wilbur is lonely—the sheep, cows, geese, and even the rats don’t want to play and be his friend. Then he meets Charlotte, a gray spider whose web is in a corner of the barn door, and they become good friends.

on 3 June 2012This book, according to me, has really taught me the value of friendship… When Charlotte dies, i think I know how sad an terrible Wilbur must have felt. I read this book with SUCH RAPT ATTENTION, that i remember the seven sections of a Spider’s leg- Coxa, trochanter, fibula, Patella, Tibia, Metatarsus and Tarsus. :)

on 3 March 2011Once again I watched the film before I read the book. Which was a good job because if it had of been the other way round the film would of been a disappointment. Ten times better than the film. This is the story of a spider Called Charlotte who becomes freinds with a pig. I really enjoy books that have animals that talk. Happy and sad story.

on 7 January 2008I really love this book! It’s one of my favourite books ever. It’s very sad though. Some of the sad bits stop being sad, and some of them keep on being sad, like when Charlotte dies. I think that it would be great to have a pig. I don’t have any pets.

Clever and charming
This is one of the first books I remember reading as a child, and it’s great to see that it’s stood the test of time to still be so popular today. It’s a simple story about a young girl called Fern and Charlotte, a talented web-spinning spider, who try to save their pet piglet Wilbur. You can’t help but get drawn in to the story and feel for poor Wilbur’s predicament. It’s clever and charming and, while it’s desperately sad in parts, is a truly memorable read.
