on 7 March 2014I really like this book because Flo’s family is not that well off and if her mom wins it would mean lots of cash for them but they find out they dont need money to be happy.

on 8 October 2013I quite enjoyed reading The Year of Big Dreams because it was kind of weird compared to the usual storylines. It was unique as instead of the young teenager getting all the “fame and glory” in the story, this time it was in fact her mother which surprised me greatly. I enjoyed reading the book from start to finish and it had many twists and turns. I think Karen McCombie has wrote an amazing book and I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone. My favourite character is actually Flo’s grandma, Olive, because she comes across as a sassy but caring grandmother who will always be there behind you, supporting you in every decision you take in your life. My least favourite characters are Polly and Heidi because in some parts of the book, they come across as nice, and caring but usually they come across as mean and selfish especially when they look down on Flo for not being as rich as them. Overall, this book was intriguing and I absolutely adored reading it. My rating is 10 for this book!

I like this book because Flo has a mother who has a sweet voice and enters a show called Big Dreams. Soon everyone starts to like her and she becomes the star of the show. Soon the cameras start taking pictures of every where they go.
