Product description

This takes the form of Tom’s battered homework diary – crammed with his doodles and stories.

“Exciting News! Mr Fullerman announces that class 5F are going on an ‘Activity Break’! Which should be fun. As long as I don’t get stuck in a group with anyone who snores or worse still with . . . . . . Marcus Meldrew.

Delia is already threatening to paint my room funny colours while I’m away. Which is annoying. I just hope the only surprise I have when I get home is the new pet that I hear Mum and Dad talking about. Because I’ve always wanted a pet!”

This installment of Tom Gates is the best one yet! Now Ive read the British equivalent to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, DOAWK doesn`t seem as good!

My favourite scene has to be a scene near the end of the diary when Miss Worthington holds up a lost teddy bear which belongs to Tom and also a scene where Tom has a message from his Mum stuck to his back. We can all relate to this as on school camps parents always try to embarrass you!

My favourite character is Marcus in this book as on the school camp he caused many of the funny scenes. One of the funniest being when he sinks the raft by rocking it back and forth in the water. He also managed to hide his sweets from the others, I am in awe that he managed to do it. Whenever I go on school trips my roomates always find my hidden stash!

I rate this book 9/10. It was fun, funny and an easy read. I would recommend it to anyone, especially DOAWK fans.
