Product description

Five years ago, Jamie’s sister, Rose, was blown up by a terrorist bomb. Five years later, his family is still wrecked by grief. Now Jamie, Dad and his teenage sister are moving to the Lake District for a fresh start. But things are just as bad as ever. Jasmine, who was Rose’s twin, has turned to piercings and punk hairstyles. Mum has run off with a man from her support group. But ten-year-old Jamie hasn’t cried the entire time. To him, Rose is just a distant memory. Jamie longs for Mum to come home, and for his family finally to start living. And when he sees an advert for a TV talent show, he feels certain it will bring them all back together…

“This is a fine debut novel. Truthful, clear-eyed and wise.” Telegraph

“Heartbreaking and funny in near equal measure… This is a wonderful, touching story that never slips into worthiness.” Observer

    The book

I'm in the middle of reading it right now-and it's amazing. It's all about a boy-Jamie- who's sister-Rose-died in a terrorist bomb 5 years ago. Although I'm only on Chapter 7, I'm already finding this book AMAZING and am going to tell all my friends about how amazing this book really is!
