Product description

‘The ultimate children’s story’ – David Walliams

Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this Gold Ticket from Mr Willy Wonka! I shake you warmly by the hand! Tremendous things are in store for you!

One miraculous moment changes Charlie Bucket’s life forever.

A boy who only gets to eat cabbage soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner finds a Golden Ticket that will take him into Willy Wonka’s magical chocolate factory.

Joining him on the tour are four horrible blighters:

Augustus Gloop – a great big greedy nincompoop, Veruca Salt – a spoiled brat, Violet Beauregarde – a repulsive little gum-chewer and Mike Teavee – a TV addict.

With a chocolate river, crafty squirrels and mysterious Oompa Loompas, Mr Wonka’s chocolate factory is the strangest, most magnificent place Charlie has ever seen.

What other surprises are in store for the lucky ticket winners?

Now you can listen to CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry – plus there are added squelchy soundeffects from Pinewood Studios!

I love this book because its funny. My favourite part is when Willy Wonka presses the up and out button and the elevator whizzes through the roof, then Charlie says “How does the elevator stay up here?” and Willy Wonka replies “sky hooks!”. I really want to read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator next.

Charlie and the chocolate factory is a very old book by Roald Dahl. I love how all the sweet treats are described in the book like so detailed.

I love this book because i think it tells people that are feeling down that there is always a bright side to a bad thing. My favourite part in this book is where he finds the golden ticket in the chocolate bar. How he finds it is when he is walking home he finds a 5 dollar note on the ground he picks it up and runs to the sweet shop. he buys three chocolate bar and stuffs two of them down. When he opens the third one he sees something gold. He tears the rest of it open and finds a GOLDEN TICKET. He runs home as fast as he could and told his family all about finding the money on the ground. Can you believe his luck? He wants his grandpa to go with him but then realised that grandpa has not walked for over twenty years! He is very sad. But then grandpa jumps out of bed and off they go. that is why that is my favourite part of the story.
