Product description

Footie-mad Robbie is lying in a coma after being hit by a car. Now he’s locked in his body, unable to move or speak. As Robbie lies on the hospital bed, thoughts drift through his mind: thoughts of his life outside, his family and friends, his parents’ separation and his school life. But nobody seems able to reach in and get Robbie to hear them. Even Zola, his favourite Chelsea footballer, is unable to get Robbie to wake up. But one day, against hospital rules, Dad brings Robbie’s dog Lucky into the hospital. Can Lucky do the impossible, and bring Robbie back to life?

Fusing ingredients that boys love – dogs and football – and exploring a situation of the deepest gravity with warmth and understanding, this marvellous and unusual book tackles the subject of serious illness in a way that children can instantly relate to.

I love this book because it is so, well cool! It is about a boy named Robbie Ainsely and he loves football and his dog, Lucky. One day, he gets sent out to walk Lucky, but suddenly a car comes round the corner out of nowhere an hits Robbie! The book is based around what Robbie says in his head. He thinks that coma sounds like comma, read the whole book to see if his coma is a comma and not a full stop!

This book is about a boy who gets knocked down by a car. He lies in a coma for weeks on end but is still able to hear and feel. His favourite footballer Zola comes to see him but still he does not wake. Will anything ever wake him and will he come back to how he was? Read the gripping tale to find out. I liked the fact it was written in first person( the boys point of view). I recommend it to anyone aged seven and over.

This book is short but sweet but bound to bring tears to your eyes as you read it! I don’t normally cry at books but I have to admit this book nearly did! This book is n Eiffel the saddest books I have ever read and it’s quite similar to the book called the longest whale song by Jacqueline Wilson (a brilliant book as well!). I would recommend book to anyone around 8-13 year old as it is very sad and heart-breaking!!

This book is all about a boy called Robbie who sadly gets hit by a car and then is in a coma for a long time. Apsalutley everything won’t wake him up, even a visit from his hero, a world famous football player Zola and his friend and family. But the sadness thing is that robbie can hear everything that is going on and around him, he just can’t wake up. Will his dog Lucky wake him up?....... Xx

I loved this story. It had a slightly predictable ending, but unlike other stories with predictable endings I wanted to read to the end. I loved the way it was told in the eyes of Robbie. I felt for him, not being able to move, speak or even open his eyes. I want to read this again. And would defiantly recommend.
