Product description
Like horror? Like chuckles? Not at all squeamish? Read this! The very funny cult series that’s given horror fiction a good hard kick up the backside. It all starts when Stephanie inherits her Uncle Gordon’s estate. He wrote horror fiction. Or was it horror fact? Now Stephanie is being chased by vampires, demons and monsters. Only one person – we use that term loosely – can save her skin. He’s a detective. He’s a magician. He loves to crack daft jokes. And (this is where it gets freaky) he’s a skeleton. Yikes.
- Hilarious horror full of wisecracks, suspense and action
- The first ten books plus a special Tanith Low novella
- The first Skulduggery book won the Red House Award
- A blockbusting series that has made a huge impact
“Hugely enjoyable – a thrill-a-minute adventure.” Jonathan Stroud
“A thoroughly satisfying blend of humour, magic and adventure.” Rick Riordan

Skulduggery pleasant has been my favourite book series ever since I opened the first page, and trust me, I've read a lot of books. One of the things I love about the series is that the main characters arent purely good. They have so much character development and Skulduggery is an incredibly made being. The mixture of sarcasm, comedy and things that go bump in the night are perfect. Not to mention Derek Landy is diverse and a lot of his characters are gay or suffer from mental illnesses, something that other authors dont often do. He makes the characters feel real and then makes you fall in love with them. If I could, I would love to be a part of that world, even with all the horrors because it is full of so much possibility.
I would reccomend it to everybody and I am currently forcing my friends to read it (they shall join the cult soon) and I just cant wait for the next book. Reading something like Skulduggery pleasant can inspire you, and always keeps you on your toes. I promise it is unlike anything you will ever read.
