Product description

A magical, lyrical picture book from the talented team of Julia Donaldson and artist Lydia Monks. Did you ever go to Silversands on a sunny summer day? Then perhaps you saw the mermaid who sang in the deep blue bay. But then the Singing Mermaid is tricked into joining the circus by wicked ringmaster Sam Sly. The audiences love her – but the poor mermaid longs to return to the freedom of the sea. Will she ever escape? If you loved What the Ladybird Heard, try this!

At the beginning the mermaid was singing in the sea, she sounded lovely but the nasty man wanted to make money from her singing and took her to the circus. She was so unhappy with the nasty man she learnt to walk upside and down and escaped with the help of her new friends back to the sea and all her friends.

I loved this story my mum and dad have read it to be lots already and I can read it myself too. I really enjoyed the adventure.

I think anybody who likes adventure would enjoy this story.
