Product description

A blackly funny masterpiece. From Mr Twit’s disgusting straggly beard to Mrs Twit’s gnarly old toes, they are two of the nastiest villains ever committed to paper – and they like nothing better than being beastly to each other! On top of that, the Twits torment little children, keep monkeys caged in their back garden, and enjoy gobbling up little songbirds baked in a pie. But can Muggle-Wump the Monkey and the beautiful Roly-Poly Bird spoil the Twits’ latest horrible plot – and avoid ending up as Bird Pie?

Also available: Read and Respond activities to accompany The Twits.

This is also an amazing book by Roald Dahl and definitely one of the best! This book is funny, a bit sad and a bit scary as well!! The twits are defiantly an odd couple and someone you would without doubt look up and down in the street! Xx

From all the horrible things that have been in mr Twits beard and all the dried on bits you would feel sick! And mrs twit well she started off lovely but she kept on having bad thoughts so every day every week and every month and every year she became twit! I think this book is the funniest one I’ve read so fare if any one has not read this book your really missing out on lots of laughter and enjoyment so you should really read it. I think this age group should be 7 and up. My funniest bit was at the end when mr and mrs twit got stuck on there heads because the monkes that mr and twit own were circus monkeys. And because mr twit kept making them go on there heads and eating and all sorts of mean stuff the monkeys turned all the furniture on the roof and all the carpet and when they went indors mr twit said were on the roof so mr and mrs twit flippted over on there heads and they were stuck! And because they were so long there legs shrunk into there knees and there knees went into there legs there legs went into there tummy and there tummy went into there neck and there neck went to the there and at the end there was just an old pile of cloths! And that was my favourite bit.

I think the The Twits was insanely funny,my favourite part was when Mr Twit put frogs in Mrs Twits bed.No wonder why Mr and Mrs twit eat bird pie for supper.I didn’t like it when Muggle Wump and his family had to stay in their cage for their whole life and always had to turn upside down(by the orders of Mr and Mrs Twit). I learnt a lesson that if I have too much ugly thoughts,I will turn out to be how Mrs Twit looked like.

The twits is one of those books that you laugh at every time you read it. While its short, its so classically humerous, you could read it over and over, and never get tired. And the tricks they play on eachother, just proves Roald Dahl really is a genius. Loved it sooo much, more than alot of books out there I think.

I loved reading about the beastly, but funny Twits.

Their wicked gross pranks grabbed my attention and made me read on.

The monkeys got an awesome revenge. Although I don't think anyone would like standing on their heads all day!

I wish I could look at their peculiar no-window house and their un-kept lawn .But I wouldn’t want to end up in bird/boy pie.

The twits have just got to play tricks on each other! not just them but children AND…. their pet monkeys, but do they act like normal? unfortunatley no they come from africa and they must stand on top of one another all day but also on there heads. With hilarious illustrations by quentin blake its got to be a winner!

With filthy hair all over his face and horrid plots growing in his mind, Mr Twist is one of the nastiest people you’ll ever meet and mrs twit is just as bad and even uglier.

But they dont stop tricking each other: neighbouring children and even the local birds are in danger, and thats where the muggle-wumps come in. This familyof monkeys has had enough of the Twits tricks and, with the help of the handsome roly-poly bird they decide its time for sweet revenge.

“Have there ever been two more wretched people than Mr. and Mrs. Twit? They’re not just horrible, they’re extra–specially horrible. Mr. Twit has a beard that houses every bit of moldy food that nearly made it to his mouth. Mrs. Twit has a glass eye which she likes to pop in her husband’s beer, saying, “I’ve got eyes everywhere so you’d better be careful.” But Mr. Twit can play tricks on his wife that are just as clever and nasty. The Muggle–Wump monkeys, stuck in a cage in the Twit’s weedy, grubby garden, have been watching them play tricks on each other for years. Now Mr. Muggle–Wump has an idea for a trick of his own –– and he’s going to make monkeys out of the Twits!”

The Twits by Roald Dahl is such an awesome and funny book, I couldn’t put it down! Basically, The Twits is about an ugly old couple called Mr and Mrs Twit. They keep playing hilarious tricks on each other (such as using worms as spaghetti, making each other believe they are shrinking by slowly cutting a centimetre off their walking sticks, etc). This is such a funny book, I recommend it to anyone who likes a good laugh. Love it!
