Product description

The moving story of a horse’s courage amid the deadly chaos of the First World War. In 1914, Joey, a young farm horse, is sold to the army and thrust into the midst of battle on the Western Front. With his officer, he bravely charges down the enemy, witnessing all the terror and horror of the frontline. Even in the desolation of the trenches, where death is always close at hand, Joey’s courage inspires the soldiers around him… Told with Michael Morpurgo’s characteristic skill and compassion, this heartwarming animal story is set against a vividly-evoked backdrop of trench warfare.

I didn’t really enjoy this book, I found it lacking description and not very exciting. However, many people think it is a amazing novel, so I suggest you should give it a try: I did, but I just didn’t like it.
