David Walliams

David Walliams is a comedian, writer and actor and is best known for his partnership with Matt Lucas on the hugely popular sketch show Little Britain, and as a star judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

David is also well known for his charitable work for Sports Relief, part of Comic Relief. He took up swimming in his youth because he was overweight, and has subsequently completed long distance swims of the English Channel, the Strait of Gibraltar and the River Thames, raising millions of pounds for charity!

In 2008 David’s first children’s book The Boy in the Dress was published, illustrated by Quentin Blake. He has gone on to take the children’s literary world by storm, dominating sales charts and twice winning the National Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year. His books have now been translated into 40+ languages, and also include picture books illustrated by Tony Ross.

   I liked it because it is very humourous. A boy goes to his granny’s every friday but there’s a secret that he doesn’t know… I thought that the story wasn’t long enough.

   This is a great book as I couldn’t put it down! Who knew that Grannies could be so much fun? Nearly cried at the end though when she died. I would highly recommended this book for people who are looking for an adventure.

   It is so hilerereos but sad to because the granny died on her own bed with her family in her bungalow and that is why I gave it four stars because she died . And she was so funny but I still apsallootly love David Walliams books so much i will never stop reading these lovely David Walliams books but I think they could be a little bit more adventurous and like what is going to happen next.I love David Walliams books.I hope that he will write some more beautiful books .

    I have read this book thousands of times and I think its great!! great adjectives and nouns amazing word play. I cannot believe that their is not a gangsta granny 2 please make one! I think I speak for all the people who have read this when I say its great and if you haven’t read it goooooo read it its amazing. I am going to read a series of David Walliam books they are great please take my word for it

    This is about the seemingly typical granny who bores her grandson to death. Ben finds his grandma is really a jewel thief and helps her out with stealing the Crown Jewels.

    Well Gangsta Granny were do we start first of all you’ve proberbly got the idea of what granny is but if you didn’t she is a gangsta with a grandson called Ben once you get your nose into this book your friends will be calling you bookworm but not in a bad way a very good way and once you tell them about what you have read about they willbe a book worm to

    This book is very sad but also funny when the granny learns to become a gangsta! It’s very emotional and there are clever tactics that they plan thoroughly. The last bit really surprised me! The Queen! :) thank you David Walliams for making yet another book that made me smile.

    This book is emotional and funny to me. Its how not Only teenagers can be gangstas but grandmas to! She’s stolen lots of jewels but Only to trick her grandson since he said shes boring (they can be sometimes.) Still, dont under estimate what they can do! You Never know grandma’s!

    I read this book quite a long time ago, but then it came on TV, and I reread it, and loved it just as much as the first time. It’s really funny, but it’s also sad, just like all his other books.

    this book is really funny because you would expect a granny to be sitting down on her ’ special ’ chair, drinking a cup of tea and reading a newspaper. but this book is completely the opposite which makes it very funny.

    Gangsta Granny…the most popular of David Walliams’ novels. It is written so fabulously that it will be enjoyed by one and all. It has a little of something for everyone.If you want some LOL time, this book’s definitely for you. Starting from a smelly cabbage soup, to stealing the Crown Jewels the book portrays humor, grief, burglary plans and so called “ boring grandmas”. The book is an enjoyable read from its beginning till the end.
