David Walliams

David Walliams is a comedian, writer and actor and is best known for his partnership with Matt Lucas on the hugely popular sketch show Little Britain, and as a star judge on Britain’s Got Talent.

David is also well known for his charitable work for Sports Relief, part of Comic Relief. He took up swimming in his youth because he was overweight, and has subsequently completed long distance swims of the English Channel, the Strait of Gibraltar and the River Thames, raising millions of pounds for charity!

In 2008 David’s first children’s book The Boy in the Dress was published, illustrated by Quentin Blake. He has gone on to take the children’s literary world by storm, dominating sales charts and twice winning the National Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year. His books have now been translated into 40+ languages, and also include picture books illustrated by Tony Ross.

   i love this

   I think that David Williams IS QUIET FUNNY Mr stink is so fat and ugly he looks so weird. Chloe looks so pretty your children would love these books.

   This book is great! I loved it! I highly recommend this book for children of all ages, as a bedtime story or to read by yourself. This book is hilarious and fun to read. The auntie in the book is, really, really, really, really, really really, really, really, really, really awful. I think anybody can enjoy it, even adults. It is a great book to read and I enjoy reading it in the bath. It has more than 400 pages so it should keep you busy for some time.

   I loved this book as it was full of tension and it was like a mountain because the story line went up and down, in addition the book made myself and my mum think about what was going to happen and that is why I loved this book.

    I think this book is OK. It’s not the best. I t’s a bit old fashioned I don’t think it’s a book for me. I think the funny ones are better for me.

    Hilarious! Some moments are super unrealistic but, hey, that’s what makes it so funny. I would not recommend this book to someone who does not like unrealistic stories, but I sure would recommend it to someone who wants to LOL!

    David Walliams has a vast imagination, this book is full of emotions, and you love or hate every character. It is discriptive and well written I’d recommend it to 7+

    Super funny i recommend this book if you want to laugh i love all Davids book because there just easy and fun to read you can never get bored by reading this book I LOVE IT if have read this book and enjoyed it then i recommend you read his other books they are amazing I LOVE AWFUL AUNTIE because at the end theres a little twist witch makes the story even better.

    I usually LOVE all David Walliams books but for some reason I didn’t really get stuck into the book as I would do if I were reading on of his others. I not saying its bad but its just not for me.

    Awful auntie is the 2nd best book yet that I’ve read by David Walliams (I have read every David Walliams books). I would give this book 5/5. The description of the characters are brilliant and match very well with the illustrations. I would also recommend Billionaire Boy, also by David Walliams.     The 2nd book I have read by this author and it was very good! I have a few very small moans and groans about this book, mostly just because it is only available in hard back, but for the most part, this is an excellent read.

    Stella Saxby lives at Saxby hall with her parents and (Awful) Aunt Alberta. One day, on a trip to London, Aunt Alberta poisons Stella’s parents into a car crash in order to have Saxby Hall to herself, which is fatal. After realising that she still needs Stella, she goes crazy tring to get her to sign the mansion over.

    I do like the way that most David Walliams books are printed, as it gives your eyes a break with the gap between lines. The words are not very challenging, so it would be good for 7+ I think.

    The worst thing about the book is that (at the moment) it is only available in hard back. I prefer papreback, and this didn’t seem right. The paper cover kept falling off as I was reading, which really wasn’t very fun.

    I did really like the story though, and thought this was a very good read. I thought that it was the best of the authors books so far, and is my favourite book of all time.

    Alberta is awful she thinks she rules the mansion. Stella tries her hardest to find out what really happened to her parents. But meanwhile Stella is friends with ghost boy Soot who is really her Uncle Herbert who went missing years back. Once Stella finds out that Alberta poisoned her Mother and Father with a drink. Alberta’s pet owl Wagner is fed by Alberta who feeds him worms. A very good book. What do you think Stella is in for now? Will she survive the beast of an aunt? Read on if you dare…
