on 17 November 2014I love history. Is really gripping .You can imagine you are skye, or clara, or finch. Glad that Clara Travers didn,t kill herself though. Poor honey must be finding it hard to get used to having Cherry and Paddy around.

on 4 March 2013Skye and Summer are twins. They have always been extremely close, but now as they grow older Skye can feel them growing apart. Skye – wears vintage style clothes, loves History, best friend is Millie. Summer – wears anything pink and anything cool, loves Ballet, best friend is Tia. They may look the same and occasionally think the same…but they couldn’t be more different. When they find a dusty old trunk in the attic, with ancient love letters and musty velvet dresses inside, Skye and Summer grow apart just a little bit more…
I’ve always loved Cathy and her books, ever since my best friend lent me Scarlett when I was nine. I don’t know how she does it but she always manages to create a realistic story, with a sense of magic included.
Marshmallow Skye starts off on Halloween, which was spooky. That was a nice change as Cathy hasn’t written a horror story before. Marshmallow Skye isn’t really a horror story anyway, but it’s still a lot different from her other books. It’s more of a mystery, I think.
Obviously I adored this book. Who wouldn’t? I really wanted to save it, but I couldn’t help reading it within an hour. One of the highlights of my year is always when Cathy launches a new book – and it’s always just in time for my birthday!
I treasure this book – it’s…. deep breath Amazfantasbrillgreatgoodexcelloveawesome! Yup. That new word perfectly describes ALL of Cathy’s books.
Read this. Now. You need to, your life isn’t complete until you read it…

on 6 March 2012Title: Marshmallow Skye
Author: Cathy Cassidy
Publisher: The Puffin Group
Well this is actually a the second in The Chocolate box series by Cathy Cassidy, and it was great. Its about a girl called Skye who had an unberably ‘better at everything then her’ twin names Summer. Summer and Skye used to always do everything together but nowadays they seem to be drifting apart… Even worse, when her best friend; Alfie, admits he’s fallen for Summer and not her it hurts. Not only does Skye have to try and fix a relationship between the two, but live with her moody older sister; Honey who hates their step dad and step sister but listen to her younger sister; Coco’s violin practise and help with the Chocolate box business! Then Skye finds a box of Clara Travers, an ancestor of hers who may have commited suicide, clothes and Summer feels really uncomfortable seeing her wear them espeically after the ghost stories they told each other… Life seems to be getting harder for Skye so will she stop thinking about Summer all the time and find her own chance to shine???
I really did like this book as it was a little spooky and not a really girly book, so it’s quite different form Cathy’s other books.
I have read quite a few of Cathy’s books: Indigo Blue, Scarlett, Sundae Girl, Driftwood, Lucky Star, Gingersnaps and Angel Cake.
I advise you all to read this book as its one of Cathy Cassidy’s best!

on 3 March 2012When I finally recieved Marshmallow Skye for christmas, I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t shape up to cherry crush, because I loved that so much. But like I have been so many times, I was so very very wrong. Instead I think I liked it just as much, because Skye had always been my favourite character. With her vintage dresses, and trunk full of old fashioned clothing and a tale full of mystery, if you buy this book, your in for an exciting journey. I just cannot WAIT for summers dream. :D

on 1 March 2012This is the best book Cathy Cassidy has written. It is the second in the chocolate box girl series, this time the whole book is from the point of Skye twin to Summer. The book follows Skye as she try’s to step out of her twin sister’s shadow. But she finds it challenging, will it ever work out for her ? You will just have to read it to find out. i would recommend for ages 12+

on 1 March 2012Marshmallow Skye is such a fantastic sequel to Cherry Crush. Cherry Crush was boring and had no story line, where as Marshmallow Skye had a fantastic story line and a brilliant plot! I think all readers can relate to something in Skye and that’s what I love. Amazing book!

on 1 March 2012Everyone thinks summer tanberry is fantastic. But Skye, her twin sister (main character) is getting a bit sick of it. Her best friend even seems to prefer her. When Skye gets freaky dreams from the past, she keeps it to herself because there’s a gypsy boy she doesn’t want anyone to know about. This book is full of unexpected and sometimes creepy coincidences. * * * * and a half!

on 5 September 2011I really enjoyed this book, it had a really good storyline. My favourite character is Cherry because when Cherry and her dad moved in with Syke, her mum, and the other girls Honey had a fight with Cherry and Cherry felt left out, but she still kept being nice to the other girls. My worst character was Finch.
I think that the book was really good, but the whole idea of the ghost story was really boring.

Marshmallow Skye is a stunning story written by the incredible Cathy Cassidy as part of The Chocolate Box Girls Series. It’s all about Skye Tanberry 2nd youngest out of all the sisters who absolutely loves history and all things vintage! Skye and Summer are identical twins both turning 13 and then they’ve got their little sister Coco (11), Eldest sister Honey (15) and step-sister Cherry (14). This book is told from the point of view of Skye and how she feels shadowed by her twin sister and that she’s always second best. Until after Halloween when she is given a box of 1920s dresses and other clothing that belonged to a long lost relative (Clara Jane Travers) with a tragic mystery story! Summer doesn’t agree with all of Clara’s belongings turning up and being around the house and especially doesn’t like Skye wearing the clothes, thinking that something bad could come with them turning up – but that doesn’t stop Skye wearing them and trying to solve the mystery of Clara Jane Travers and her love story! I mean what could possibly be bad about a gorgeous boy named Finch who makes Skye’s heart do back flips!!! I think this book is a superlative read and would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a good book and a fan of Cathy Cassidy. I’d say this book is about an 11+ and I’m most definitely rating it 5/5 stars!!! :-)
