A beautiful modern fairytale from the former Children’s Laureate. In a tiny village high among remote mountains, a bear cub is adopted by an orphan girl. on 2 March 2012I think that this book was ok, but wasn’t great. At some points it was quite moving (Roxanne’s relationship with the bear) but the plot seemed a bit unrealistic and far-fetched. However, I would recommend it to age 11 and below.
