Product description

A beautiful modern fairytale from the former Children’s Laureate. In a tiny village high among remote mountains, a bear cub is adopted by an orphan girl. The bond between them seems unbreakable – until a film crew arrives in search of a dancing bear. This lyrical, poetic story will captivate every child with its dramatic setting and vivid themes of loyalty, friendship and change.

This book nearly killed me as it is totally unexpected at the end of the book and I was reading it when I was not very happy so it made me cry a lot. It was okay though.

I think that this book was ok, but wasn’t great. At some points it was quite moving (Roxanne’s relationship with the bear) but the plot seemed a bit unrealistic and far-fetched. However, I would recommend it to age 11 and below.
