Product description
This remarkable eyewitness account describes the horror of the Nazi occupation through the eyes of a teenage girl who was there: Anne Frank. It tells how Anne and her Jewish family dodged the Nazis for two years by hiding in a tiny secret room in Amsterdam. Anne was destined not to survive the war. Her family were betrayed to Nazi soldiers, and she later died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. But until her capture, she wrote regularly in this diary, which remains one of the most important books of the 20th century. Written in that hidden attic, Anne’s diary is a remarkable story of hope and courage, and of the life one girl lived at the epicentre of world history.

on 2 April 2016Anne Franks diary is moving, inspirational and just plain fabulous! It truly is one of the best pieces of writing ever published. I am ALS interested in World War II and I think that Anne Frank and her family did not deserve that harsh time in an annexe and afterwards (the very sad bit) it was so sad I wanted to cry because when she wrote her last diary entry I just felt sooo sad for her because she had no idea that it was the last ever entry she would ever write in her beloved diary which she called Kitty. I wonder where Kitty is now. I think it might be in a museum at the moment. The next thing I will write is a message to the other members of the scholastic kids club who love reading and writing: We are all a team! Reading is a simple pleasure to us every day while a lot of people in the world just can’t go to school to learn how to read, and can’t enjoy the fabulous books my mind devours every single day. I know I am very talented at writing, and you are all very talented at it too, everyone! I would 100% recommend this book to anybody who enjoys reading diaries and journals, and I would also recommend it to the people in this world who still do not know the prejudice in the causes of World War II and what it did to affect Anne Frank, a legendary author whom I love and feel incredibly sorry now for. Everyone, read her diary, also if you have a school project about World War II. Anne Frank and her family were innocent Jews who did absolutely nothing of the sort to deserve such a harsh time! It was pure evil, what they did to her family; there is simply no fairness and justice! I also want to recommend some other books:there are so many that I will make a huge list:
The Daisy and the Trouble with series The scholastic My Story series Jacqueline wilson series. Cathy Cassidy series. For younger children, I would recommend What Mona Wants Mona Gets
THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!!!!

on 9 March 2015This is not a book, it’s a DIARY! And I love it and to be honest, while I am reading this book I feel a little bit guilty for reading someone else’s diary. And if you found it boring, well, what do you expect? She’s been stuck in the Annexe for nearly 3 years.

on 4 January 2015This book was amazing as it was real. Anne is so inspirational because she survived living in cramped quarters. The story told is one of immense beauty and simplicity, just told word for word how she saw it. I love this book and would highly recommend it to anyone

on 5 March 2014Anne is almost my age, yet her brain is so powerful and she’s absolutely fabulous at writing. She has such a beautiful perception of the society around her, its a real pity and shame of what she had to go through, but I definitely would recommend this

on 4 March 2014Anne is so inspiring, even so long after her death. Her amazing writing skill despite her young age and her honest exploration of herself and love makes her diary fantastic to read. It gives a lot of background knowledge to the reader about the real-life scenarios during the second world war and is a must read for every single person.

on 1 January 2014This is the autobiography of a 13 year old girl who goes into hiding when the Nazis threaten, persecute and murder Jews like herself. The story is particulary touching and sad because you know it is all real and that Anne Frank and her family really did go through all of that suffering. I was hoping there would be a happy ending. Read it to find out if there is!

on 10 January 2013This book was very impressive but wasn’t my usual type. The only reason why I bought this book was for the fact that I was amazed that Anne Frank actually had the nerves to go into hiding and was a lovely little girl. She had exactly the same personality as me and I enjoys reading her life story and finding out more about her as I read on!! It was a very good book! Great,

on 6 September 2009This book is very emotional. There is love between Peter and Anne; the boredom and frustration of beeing shut up in a small space with 7 others and the horrible fear of being caught. Her diary makes you feel lucky and you can’t even begin to imagine living the way she did. It is interesting to read about Anne’s thoughts whilst she is hidden away from the world.
