Andy Stanton is author of the fantastically funny Mr Gum books.

Andy lives in North London. He studied English at Oxford but they kicked him out. He has been a film script reader, a cartoonist, an NHS lackey and lots of other things. He has many interests, but best of all he likes cartoons, books and music (even jazz). One day he’d like to live in New York or Berlin or one of those places because he’s got fantasies of bohemia. His favourite expressions are ‘Good evening’ and ‘What on earth is THAT?!’ and his favourite word is ‘werewolf’.

    The funniest books around, I laugh and laugh and laugh each time I read a Mr Gum book,the first one I read was Mr Gum And The Dancing Bear, it was so funny and the funniest one I’ve read is Mr Gum And The Secret Hideout.

    i am the biggest mr.gum fan ever, if you havent read any you are crazy. you should totaly read them and read them NOW. they are fab, brill and amazingly good!!! xx

    I have read all of these hilarious books and Mr Gum is just one of a kind. I loved Polly’s introductory in the first book and I thought the author really had mad the book from great to absolutely wonderful.
