on 21 November 2014Love it i can’t wait to read the others i liked this book because i felt mixed emotions at times i thought Cherry would be friends with Honey but at other time no way. I recommend this book to people who have a blurred imagination so you don’t imagine it too OTT because then it would ruin the book

on 9 August 2014Cherry Crush is about a girl called Cherry who is half Japanese and half Scottish. Her mother died when she was small and her father (Paddy) met up with a new woman (Charlotte Tantenberry). Charlotte was one of Paddy’s old artschool friend’s who he met up with online. Soon after Paddy and Cherry were moving to Somerset, England to live with Charlotte and her 4 daughters Coco, Skye,Summer and last but not least Honey. When Cherry arrives at Tanglewood B&B, Honey is there waiting. Honey really doesn’t like Cherry or Paddy one bit. Cherry finds this out the hard way…

on 20 April 2014The Chocolate Box Girls: Cherry Crush is the first of the series and is all about Cherry Costello (Sakura) starting a new life in Somerset with her dad and moving into Tanglewood house with her new step mum Charlotte and four step sisters! (Plus a load of pets!!!!) But then on her first day in Tanglewood at this amazing welcome party she meets the gorgeous Shay who smells of the ocean and carries around his electric blue guitar. Cherry likes Shay she thinks he’s really kind and caring and starts to form a bit of a crush but then she finds out that Shay already has a girlfriend, Cherry’s new step sister Honey!!! Cherry tries to steer clear of Shay so that she doesn’t stir up any trouble with her new step sister but no matter how hard she tries he keeps popping up and the crush just grows and grows! I loved this book my favourite so far, and would rate it 10+ and 5/5 stars! :-D

on 9 March 2014I love Cathy Cassidy! I have almost read all of the books she has brought out and found Cherry Crush the best yet by far. This book was about Cherry and Shay who both love each other. However, Shay is going out with one of Cherry’s stepsisters (Honey). This book is about how Cherry comes to grips with her new family and life. I recommend it for 10/11 years+.

on 11 June 2013Cherry Crush is a book about fourteen year old Cherry who moves from Glasgow to Somerset to Tanglewood house where a new mum and a bunch of new sisters await…But on her first day she meets the gorgeous Shay Fletcher. She can’t help falling for him, but he’s her stepsister Honey’s boyfriend and surely that means he’s forbidden, right?

on 30 April 2013Cherry Crush is a really good book ; it’s a real page turner too !!!!! The story is about a girl named Cherry who moves to Devon with her dad from Glasgow to live with her dad’s new girlfriend Charlotte and her four daughters Honey , Skye , Summer and Coco . Some more excitng things happen in the book but I am not going to say what they are as I don’t want to ruin it if you are planning to read it . There were no pictures but i preferred it this way as it helped me to imagine the story more vividly in my head . the plot is good and I liked how Cathy Cassidy ( the author of the book ) left the chapters on cliff hangers when they ended . In concluson I give this book …......... 5 STARS !!!!!!!!!!

on 4 March 2013I have been SO excited about this exciting new book ever since it was announced that Cathy was writing it, way back in July 2009! So when Puffin contacted me asking if I would like the manuscript version (!!) of it, how could I refuse!
The cover is so gorgeous and yummy. I love that some of it is illustration, but the pictures of the chocolate aren’t! Mmm… I also love the silver against the bright red. It looks fun and entertaining, yet also sophisticated and…..well….chocolate-y!
The whole idea of The Chocolate Box Girls is just genius. Apparently there will be five books in total (Cherry Crush being the first one), each book being from the point of view of each sister. This one is from Cherry Costellos. I love the way she looks at things, and yet I feel sorry for her sometimes too. Her stories are magical, and mysterious….love it!
My favourite character, apart from Cherry, is Shay. When he first appears in the story, I thought he was a bit weird, but then further on in the book, I thought he was quite cool.
My overall rating of this fabulously amazbrilltastic book is 5/5! It has friendship, a gypsy caravan and chocolate….what more could a great book need?

on 24 June 2012The first book in the amazing Chocolate Box Girls Series – Well done Cathy (again!) I loved it! It went into the rich, exciting dream world of Cherry Costello that covered and hid the truth- even for the reader- right till the end. Like Cherry, I also love writing and making up stories and I’m so jealous that she gets to camp out in the beautiful gypsy caravan!

on 6 March 2012Title: Cherry Crush
Author: Cathy Cassidy
Publisher: The Penguin Group
Cherry Crush is about a girl, Cherry, who is moving to a new home to four stepsisters and a step mum. At her old school she had no friends, people called her a liar, though Cherry thinks of it more as making things up, stories, a unique imagination… But when she gets to her new home, everyone seems to like her, everyone except Honey, the eldest Tanberry sister. Honey has been having a hard time recently and misses her dad. But then disaster strikes as Cherry falls for Honey’s boyfriend Shay. And things could get messy….
I would recommend this book for 12-16 year olds.
My star rating is 4 out of 5

on 29 February 2012Book: Cherry Crush
Author: Cathy Cassidy
Publisher: The Penguin Group
I quite like the two different covers. The second one is bright and colorful, and the girl on the first one looks like she’s thinking about something, or looking at something, and you want to find out what. The only thing bad I can say is that in the book, the main character, Cherry has bluish black hair, and this one’s hair is kind of gingery.
This book was quite interesting. It’s the first book in a series called the Chocolate Box Girls, by Cathy Cassidy. I’ve read the second one, Marshmallow Skye, which I found great, and which I think is better than Cherry Crush. Cherry Costello is half Japanese, half Scottish. She doesn’t think she’s special or important or pretty, and popular people like Kirsty McRae think she’s nobody and doesn’t mind saying it out loud. And then there’s the problem that her mum isn’t around anymore. Cherry has a vivid imagination, and she often twists the truth, saying her mum is a ballerina or a famous actress, or instead of saying she left her P.E kit at home, that the washing machine went wrong and shredded up all the clothes and then exploded. Cherry thinks it sounds much better then the real truth, much more colorful and exciting, but her teachers and people in her school don’t think so. They call her a liar. Her and her dad move to Tanglewood House, a B&B in Somerset on the edge of a mountain, with her dad’s girlfriend and her four daughters. Cherry gets along quite well with them three of the sisters, but then there’s Honey. Snobbish, arrogant-a double of Kirsty McRae. Honey hates Cherry and her dad, thinking they’re trying to take over and steal her mum’s money. To make it worse, Honey has a boyfriend called Shay Fletcher who Cherry’s falling for. Cherry knows their friendship will spoil everything, but she can;t help it. Will everything work out in the end for Cherry?
I loved this book, and I think it deserves a 5/5!

However ‘Cherry Crush’was not really for me, I guess it was because I was kind of rushing the book :P, but I did like if YOU are going to read this book take your time enjoy it.
In addition at the back it has theses cool recipes.

on 5 March 2011It’s a really good book. In fact, it’s the only book I’ve ever read twice and I may read it again before Vanilla Skye comes out – and I can’t wait for that moment!!!
The romance side of the plot is top notch as well as the style of writing. It’s written in not a drowningly amazing way, but a way that entertains you just the right ammount.
I really recommend this book and here are some other books that I recommend:
Boys Don’t Cry – Malorie Blackman (Not Suitable For Younger Readers)
The Tunnels Series – Roderick Gordon and Brian Williams (A shocking surprise)
The Hunger Games Series – Suzanne Collins (UTTERLY AMAZING and UNPUTDOWNABLE!!!)

on 31 August 2010Although I am a huge Cathy Cassidy fan this particular book was not my favourite. I found that there was no true story-line, it was different things all combined. I found it boring at times and didn’t think that much happened. I would not recommend it to someone after a thrilling and interesting read.
